hit the reset button

Well well well, if it isn’t my old friend, comparison.

And oh, hello, there’s my other good friend, reflection, letting me see where I’ve gotten caught up in the shiny stuff again, thinking I need to be doing more of all the things. Sure, I’ll try on this or that and the other to see if it fits. Often it doesn’t, but that’s just my nature. I can’t help I’m drawn to new experiences and I always want to feel more of what lights me up.

Turns out, again and again, that it’s my own inner guide that holds the light and it’s not about any of that… it’s about stripping away all those extra layers to show up as I am fully and completely, and no matter how many extra layers I try on, it’s the simplest forms of mindful movement, breath, and meditation that always help me reset and reconnect with the basic goodness of life.

These practices remind me of the simple pleasures that are always available to me: the act of breathing, the joy of sitting quietly, the grace of moving my body.

For me, coming back to the simplest forms of these practices are without a doubt, the best way to deepen my understanding of self and source, to ground into my body, and to be reminded of our inherent goodness, choosing to believe we all really are doing the best we can.

Thank goodness the practice never ends.
